TWAS Membership
The Academy's strength resides in the quality and diversity of its membership – internationally renowned scientists elected by their peers.
TWAS is a merit-based science academy. Only Members can elect new members. Membership is for life. For an overview of the criteria and the election procedure, please see: Criteria for membership.
The current Membership (i.e. Fellows and Associate Fellows) stands at 1071 [as of 21 February 2013]. Ninety-eight Members are women. TWAS Fellows, who live and work in developing countries, represent 87 percent of the membership; TWAS Associate Fellows live and work in developed countries.
