Deadline extended - Innovations in Science and Technology in Developing CountriesTWAS and ISTIC are collaborating on a project aimed at identifying, rewarding and disseminating best practices in the innovative use of science and technology in the development of new products, processes or services that have had impacts on economic development in the South. Assistance for organizers of scientific meetings in the SouthOrganizers of scientific activities that will be held in developing countries between January and June 2013 can apply for small grants. Deadline for applications: 1 June 2012. Africa only: AU-TWAS awards for young scientistsThe awards are designed to recognize scientific excellence in African countries. Deadline: 30 June, Africa Scientific Renaissance day. TWAS Fellowships: deadline 30 JunePostgraduate, postdoctoral, visiting scholar and advanced research fellowships available to scientists from developing countries. Deadlines vary; the next is 30 June 2012. CNPq-TWAS Fellowship call for proposals is now openApplications must be submitted between Friday, 13 April 2012, and Thursday, 19 July 2012 by 18:00 hours Brasilia time (GMT -03:00). 2012 Call for applications for OWSD FellowshipsPostgraduate fellowships are offered to female scientists by the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). Deadline for applications: 31 July 2012. TWAS launches photo contest14 May. The contest, whose theme is 'Sustainable Energy for All', is open to all TWAS Members, TWAS Young Affiliates, TWAS Alumni, winners of TWAS prizes, fellowships and grants.
